Frequently Asked Questions

Everything we get asked, answered plainly — including the things our brush doesn’t do. If your question isn’t here, email us and a person will answer it.

Using Oralumi

How does the Oralumi Red + Blue Light Toothbrush work?

It combines sonic brushing with light. Soft bristles move at 40,000 strokes a minute, so the brush does the cleaning instead of your hand, while red and blue LEDs sit along the gumline for the full two minutes. The red LED runs at 660nm — the wavelength used in periodontal light research — and the blue light is aimed at the bacteria that collect where the gum meets the tooth. You use it exactly like any electric toothbrush: twice a day, two minutes.

Can I use it if my gums already bleed or have receded?

Yes. Oralumi is built for gums that are already sensitive — soft bristles, no pressure needed, and light instead of scrubbing.

One thing we’d rather be straight about: it will not grow back gum tissue that has already been lost. Nothing you can buy online will. And if your gums bleed regularly, it’s worth having a dentist look at them as well as changing your brush.

Will it hurt if my gums are sore?

It shouldn’t. The whole point of a sonic brush is that you don’t press — the bristles do the work at a speed your hand can’t match. Most people find they can finally brush the sore spot instead of avoiding it. Rest the brush against the gumline rather than pushing into it.

How long before I notice anything?

That depends on where you’re starting and how consistent you are. A cleaner, fresher mouth usually comes first. Changes at the gumline take longer — think weeks of daily use, not days.

That’s exactly why our guarantee runs for sixty days instead of thirty. Thirty days isn’t long enough to form an honest opinion.

Does it whiten my teeth?

That isn’t what it was built for. The blue light is there to work on the bacteria that collect along the gumline — the same bacteria behind most bad breath — which is why the first thing people tend to notice is a mouth that feels and smells fresher.

Whiter teeth were never the goal, and we don’t sell this as a whitening device. Brushing properly twice a day keeps surface staining down; anything beyond that is a job for your dentist.

Can I use it with crowns, implants, veneers or braces?

Sonic brushes are generally fine alongside dental work, and the light makes no difference either way. That said, your dentist knows your mouth and we don’t — if you’ve had work done recently, ask them first.

The device

Is it waterproof?

Yes. Oralumi is IPX7 waterproof, so it handles everyday water exposure, including use in the shower.

How long does a charge last?

Up to four weeks of twice-daily, two-minute brushing on a full charge. Heavier use or higher intensity will shorten that.

How often should I replace the brush head?

About every six weeks. Once the bristles splay they clean less well, and most people compensate by pressing harder — which is the one thing your gums don’t need. Every kit ships with enough heads to cover its supply period.

What’s in the box?

The brush, its brush heads, a wireless charging base and a USB-C cable. The Full Routine and Shared Routine also include a hard-shell travel case.

Orders, shipping & returns

How much is shipping and how long does it take?

Shipping is free on every order, with full tracking included. Orders take 2–4 business days to process. After that, delivery takes 7–10 business days within the United States and 10–14 business days internationally, depending on the destination.

How does the 60-day money-back guarantee work?

Use it for sixty days. If your gums haven’t answered, email support@oralumihealth.com within the guarantee window and we’ll send you return instructions. You get a full refund, there’s no restocking fee, and you keep the brush heads.

Full conditions are in our Return Policy.

Is there a warranty?

Yes — one year on the brush itself, covering manufacturing defects. If something fails, email support with your order number and a short description and we’ll sort it out.

How do I reach a person?

Email support@oralumihealth.com. We answer within one business day, and there’s a person on the other end.

Still not sure?

Sixty days is the honest answer to a question we can’t settle in writing. Try it, and if your gums don’t answer, send it back.
